DAVID ELIJAH GREEN
20 year old, Barstow resident
ATTEMPTED MURDER SUSPECT CAPTURED
On 10/2/13 at 11:47 p.m. Barstow Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East Buena Vista Avenue for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers discovered two male subjects who were suffering from gunshot wounds. The Barstow PD Detective Division assumed the investigation and the suspect was identified as David Green, an 18 year old Barstow resident. Investigators learned that Green and one of the victims had been involved in a physical altercation earlier that same evening, in front of the shooting location. Approximately an hour after the fight broke up, Green returned to the location armed with a handgun. Green fired several rounds at the victims while they were standing on the front porch of the residence. After the shooting, Green fled the area on foot and remained at large until his arrest on Wednesday, 7/16/14.
A warrant for Green’s arrest was issued in 2013. Detectives followed up on several tips, regarding Green’s whereabouts however were unable to locate him. Barstow P.D. Detectives received a call from an anonymous person in late June 2014. The caller reported that Green was seen attending meetings at a church in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada. It was determined that this church was located in close proximity to the apartment of Green’s sister, Tiffany Green.
Barstow P.D. Detectives requested assistance from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Fugitive Criminal Apprehension Team. These investigators then conducted surveillance of Tiffany Green’s apartment. On 7/16/14 at approximately 6:30 p.m. the fugitive, David Green, was taken into custody when he was spotted, with his sister, getting into a car and beginning to drive away.
David Green has been booked at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas pending his extradition back to California
