SUMMARY:

On August 13, 2014, Barstow Police Officer Terry Sidur responded to a report of a burglary that had occurred at a residence in the 1900 block of East Main Street.

Upon arrival officers learned that between August 09, 2014 and August 13, 2014, an unknown suspect smashed out the window of the victim’s residence, unlawfully entered the residence and stole property. The victim reported that the suspect stole two red suitcases that contained personal items such as cellular phones, a camcorder, clothing, birth certificates and important papers of “sentimental value”. The victim stated that on the night of the August 13, 2014, she saw a Hispanic male in the area carrying two suitcases that resembled the suitcases that belong to her.

The Victim stated that when she checked her residence several minutes later, she discovered that the window on the northwest corner of the residence had been shattered and her suitcases had been stolen.

The Victim stated that she was not able to re-locate the male subject she had seen with the suitcases. Officers arrived and began conducting an investigation into the burglary. Through their investigation and evidence collected at the scene, the officers identified Patrick Flores, the victim’s neighbor, as a possible suspect, but were not able to confirm his involvement at that time.

On September 10, 2014, at approximately 12:02 p.m., Corporal Gilmore conducted a follow-up investigation with the victim and obtained information that led back to Patrick Flores as a possible suspect. Corporal Gilmore made contact with Flores at his residence and several items stolen from the victim’s residence were recovered from the bedroom of Flores’ residence and positively identified by the Victim. The stolen suitcases and property were returned to the victim and Flores was arrested.

Flores was booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Jail in Barstow for the listed charges.
