CASE AGENT(S):               Officer Phillip Ragle, ID# P-75

On Sunday, November 16, 2014, at approximately 10:22 p.m., the Barstow Police Department Dispatch Center received a call of a robbery with shots fired at a residence in the 300 block of Forest Avenue in the City of Barstow. Officers arrived on scene and immediately began searching for any victims and/or suspects at the location.

Officer Ragle made contact with the reporting party/victim and learned that a subject came to the residence and stated he was a friend of the victim’s grandson, who was not at the residence at the time. The subject, who was unknown to the victim, told the victim that her grandson said the subject could borrow the grandson’s vehicle or that the victim would give him a ride. The victim told the subject “no” to both requests, at which time the subject pulled out a handgun, pointing it at the victim. The victim asked the subject if he was going to kill her, the subject then held the firearm next to the victims face and fired a single shot. The bullet went through a bookcase and interior wall and exited the exterior wall of the residence.  The subject then told the victim to give him the keys to her car, which out of fear for her life, she did.  The subject then left the area in the victim’s vehicle. Officers searched the area, although they were unable to locate the victim’s vehicle or the suspect. A Crime Scene Investigator was called to the scene and collected evidence from the location.

The victim’s vehicle is described as a 2006 Toyota Camry, Gold in Color, with California License number 5SVH927. Anyone seeing this vehicle is asked to call the police immediately and do not approach the vehicle or anyone inside the vehicle.
