Anthony Lott Jr. Eric Lemus
CASE AGENT: Detective Leo Griego, ID# D-1
On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at approximately 11:54 p.m., the Barstow Police Department Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call from the victim who reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by two male adults at the “charging station” behind Chili’s Grill & Bar in the Lenwood Road area of Barstow. The victim reported that the suspects approached him while he was charging his vehicle and that one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him and forced him out of his car. The victim reported that the suspects robbed him of his personal jewelry, credit card(s), and other property. The suspects also stole the victim’s 2014 Tesla vehicle and drove off. The victim ran from the area to a local business and called 9-1-1.
Several Barstow Police Department Officers responded to the scene. They contacted the victim at the scene and began checking the area for his vehicle and the suspects. The officers found the victim’s vehicle crashed at the Arco AM/PM Fuel Station in the same general area. The vehicle had crashed into a metal barrier in front of one of the gas pumps and the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled from the area.
Evidence Technician Deanna Schooler responded to the scene and processed the victim’s vehicle for evidence, including fingerprints. Schooler located and retrieved possible suspect fingerprints from the vehicle and sent those fingerprint impressions to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department “Cal ID” Division. An examiner for “Cal ID” examined the latent fingerprints and identified some of the latent fingerprints to Anthony Eugene Lott Jr., a resident of Victorville, CA. It was learned that Lott Jr. is currently on parole for burglary out of the Victorville Parole Office.
Further investigation was conducted and the second suspect, Lott Jr.’s known friend, was identified as Eric Anthony Lemus, a former resident of Barstow who currently resides in Apple Valley, CA. It was learned that Lemus is currently on felony probation out of the Probation Office in Victorville.
On Friday, January 23, 2015 Barstow Police Department Detectives travelled to Adelanto, Victorville, and Apple Valley and with the assistance of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputies and Lemus’ Probation Officer, a search for Lott Jr. and Lemus was conducted at several locations, although neither of the subjects have been located. It is believed that officers may have located the weapon used during the robbery, although the subjects should still be considered armed and dangerous.
The victim positively identified Lott Jr. and Lemus as the two robbery suspects from photographic line-ups. Barstow Police Department Officers and Detectives are actively searching for Lott Jr. and Lemus.
Further Investigation is being conducted. Anyone with information regarding the robbery and carjacking, or the whereabouts of Lott Jr. and Lemus is asked to call the Barstow Police Department at (760)256-2211. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call WE-TIP at 1(800)782-7463.
