SYNOPSIS:

On 06/04/14 The Barstow Police Department was contacted by the United States Marine Corps Logistics Base Criminal Investigations Division (C.I.D.) regarding threats made by a civilian employee, Matthew Meugniot. Meugniot threatened to kill his supervisor, co-workers, and then himself at the Commissary on the Marine Corp Logistics Base – Nebo Annex in Barstow.

At the time the incident was reported to the Barstow Police Department, Meugniot was reportedly out-of-town with family members and not at the MCLB installation. Officers of the Barstow Police Department monitored Meugniot’s whereabouts and later made contact with Meugniot at his residence. Due to the allegations made against Meugniot and the potential seriousness of the threats, he was detained for further investigation.

On 06/10/14 members of the Barstow Police Department detective and patrol divisions served a search warrant at Meugniot’s home.  Several items of potential evidence were located and seized, including a rifle and other weapons.  As a result of the search warrant and additional interviews regarding the threats allegedly made by Meugniot, he was charged with PC 422 – Criminal Threats and booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, CA.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Keith Libby of the Barstow Police Department at (760) 255-5134 or callers who wish to remain anonymous may call the WE-TIP Hotline at (800) 78-CRIME.
