CASE AGENT: Officer Nathaniel Arias
On June 24, 2016, at approximately 7:17 AM, dispatch received a call of a vehicle burglary that had occurred at the Ayres Hotel located in the 2800 Block of Lenwood Road. The victim was staying at the hotel and reported that his vehicle had been burglarized during the night. Officer Nathaniel Arias responded to the scene and learned that the victim’s vehicle window had been smashed out and several items of his personal property stolen.
Officer Arias reviewed the hotel’s surveillance video and observed that a male and a female were involved in the burglary to the victim’s vehicle and that they were associated with a grey Ford Mustang and a yellow pick-up truck.
As Officer Arias continued to review the surveillance video he recognized the female driver of the Ford Mustang to be Tiffany Radar, a resident of Barstow.
Several Barstow Police Officers responded to the scene and began searching the area for the two involved suspect vehicles. Officer Juan Zepeda located both vehicles parked at the Holiday Inn Express in Lenwood. When officers checked the Ford Mustang they found Tiffany Radar inside the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that Radar had rented a hotel room at the Holiday Inn Express. Officers checked Radar’s hotel room and located a male who matched the description of the male suspect in the surveillance video of the vehicle burglary. The male was identified as Michael Wilson.
As officers checked the hotel room they located several items of the victim’s property that had been stolen from his vehicle during the burglary.
Michael Wilson and Tiffany Radar were placed under arrest and transported to the Barstow Police Department.
Officers were able to recover the majority of the victim’s stolen property and returned the items to the victim.
Tiffany Radar and Michael Wilson were booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Barstow Jail for P.C. 459-Burglary, P.C. 496-Receiving Stolen Property and P.C. 182(a)1 Conspiracy.
