SUSPECTS:                          Tony Rogers, BMA, 51 Years Old

CASE AGENT                   Detective Keith Libby

On August 28, 2016, at approximately 6:35 P.M., Barstow Police Officers were dispatched to Barstow Community Hospital Emergency Room for a report of a rape.  Officer Helms responded and spoke with the victim who reported that she had been held against her will and sexually assaulted.  The victim identified the suspect as Tony Rogers.

The investigation revealed that the Rogers lured the victim to an abandoned house in the 1600 block of Riverside Drive where he was living. Once inside of the residence Rogers pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to kill her if she did not comply with his demands.  Rogers then sexually assaulted the victim over a period of time until she was able to convince Rogers to allow her to leave when she told him that her mother was on her way to pick her up.

Detective Libby responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Detective Libby and several Barstow Police Officers responded to the residence where the assault occurred. Detective Libby located Rogers inside of the residence and placed him under arrest. Barstow Police Department Evidence Technicians responded to the scene and conducted a crime scene investigation. As a result, several items of evidence related to the rape investigation were located and collected.

Tony Rogers was booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Jail in Barstow for PC 261(a)(2) – Rape by Force.
