CASE AGENT(S):             Officer Joseph Silva

On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at approximately 1:25 PM, Officer Silva and Sergeant Bledsoe were dispatched to the 900 block of East Main Street reference two females physically fighting.

When officers arrived they did not observe anyone fighting but located two females who appeared to have recently been involved in a physical altercation.  During the investigation it was learned that Dionne Bell was accusing Monique Farias of stealing her property, which was left in Farias’ care as Bell was transported by ambulance to Barstow Community Hospital earlier in the morning.  The investigation revealed that Bell suddenly began punching Farias several times, causing her to lose consciousness.

Officers advised Bell numerous times that she was being placed under arrest and that she needed to place her hands behind her back, which she refused to do.  When Officers attempted to effect the arrest Bell began resisting officers, who were eventually able to effect the arrest by handcuffing her hands.  There were no injuries as a result of the confrontation between Bell and the officers.

Bell was later booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Jail in Adelanto for violation of PC 243(d) – Battery with serious bodily injury and PC 69 – Resisting a police officer.
