VICTIM(S): People of the State of California
CASE AGENT: Corporal Jose Barrientos
On January 8, 2017, at approximately 2:26 PM, Barstow Police Dispatch center received a report that the driver of a gold Ford pickup truck had just brandished a firearm at another vehicle. The incident occurred on Lenwood Road as the suspect vehicle attempted to merge on to the I15 Northbound on ramp. As the gold Ford truck entered the on ramp, another vehicle turned in front of the vehicle resulting in the driver producing a handgun and brandishing it at the occupants of the other vehicle.
A witness to the incident followed the suspect vehicle and notified Barstow Police Department that it was now exiting the Northbound I15 at Barstow Road.
Sergeant Andrew Ellis and Corporal Jose Barrientos located the suspect vehicle southbound on Barstow Road. As the vehicle made a left turn from Barstow Road onto Rimrock Road, the officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop.
Officers contacted both the driver and the passenger and conducted an in-field show-up with the witness. The witness positively identified the driver, Mosab Snoubar, as the person who brandished the handgun.
Corporal Barrientos placed Snoubar under arrest and conducted a search of his vehicle. Officers discovered several firearms inside the vehicle, to include two (2) handguns, three (3) rifles, one (1) shotgun, and multiple rounds of ammunition.
Corporal Barrientos conducted a weapons check on all the firearms and learned that one (1) of the handguns, a 9mm FMK pistol, was reported stolen in a residential burglary that occurred in the City of Barstow on November 27, 2016.
Officers seized all of the firearms and ammunition as evidence.
Mosab Snoubar was booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Barstow Jail for the listed charges.
