On December 25, 2016, at approximately 10:15 AM, Barstow Police Department Officers responded to the 1200 block of Windy Pass reference a report of shots fired. Officer Arias arrived on scene and began speaking with witnesses to the incident. While speaking to the witnesses Officer Arias learned that Damien Williams and the victim were involved in an argument over a rental vehicle.
Damien Williams was threatening to leave the victim and move back to the Los Angeles, California area. Damien Williams went inside of their residence to gather his property and at the same time the victim entered the rental vehicle and drove down the street. Damien Williams came back outside and observed the victim had taken the rental vehicle. Damien Williams then produced a revolver style handgun and fired one shot at the victim.
The victim pulled the vehicle over in an alley, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Damien Williams then walked to the vehicle, entered the vehicle and drove away from the scene to an unknown location. Through Officer Arias’ investigation he was able to positively identified Damien Williams as the shooting suspect.
On January 17, 2017, at approximately 0955 hours, Officer Arias was patrolling the 1200 block of Windy Pass when he observed a male subject matching the description of Damien Williams. Officer Arias contacted that subject and was able to positively identify him as Damien Williams. Officer Arias immediately arrested Damien Williams for the above listed charge without incident. Williams was booked at the San Bernardino County Jail in Barstow for the above charge.
