SUSPECTS:                        Rivers, Dominique BMA, 23 year old, Barstow Resident

                                           BMJ, 16 years old, Barstow Resident

                                           BMJ, 15 years old, Barstow Resident

On April 25, 2017 at approximately 2:46 P.M., officers were dispatched to the 1200 Block of Navajo Street reference a burglary in progress. The reporting party advised her neighbor was at work and she just saw three Black males forcibly enter the front door of the neighbor’s residence.


Detectives from the Barstow Police Department arrived at the location at 2:49 P.M. As Detectives were approaching the residence, a black male adult later identified as Dominique Rivers exited the front door carrying two rifle cases. Rivers was ordered to the ground at gunpoint and taken into custody. Patrol officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the residence. As officers were getting into place, two black male juveniles fled from the back of the residence and began running south, jumping several fences. Officers located the pair in the backyard of a residence in the 1200 Block of Elizabeth Street where they were taken into custody.


While searching the residence, officers located additional evidence indicating the residence had been burglarized. The victim was contacted and confirmed that no one had permission to enter his residence.


Rivers and the two juveniles were transported to the Barstow Police Department for further questioning.


Officers expanded the perimeter to adjacent streets to check for additional suspects and the department’s Drone was deployed. Using the Drone an area check of several yards was completed, no additional suspects were located.

Evidence Technicians were dispatched to process the scene. When the victim returned to his residence, he conducted an inventory of his property. After collecting and returning the stolen property from the front yard, all property was determine to be accounted for.   


Rivers was eventually booked at the High Desert Detention Center for being in violation of California Penal Code 459- Burglary. The two juveniles were booked at San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall in Apple Valley for being in violation of California Penal Code 459- Burglary.
