Extended Excessive Heat Warning
In preparation for the incoming Long Duration Excessive Heat event which is forecasted to last from Friday through the end of next week the following information is being provided for planning and readiness purposes.
Extended Period of Hot Weather for Inland Areas Friday through Wednesday. High pressure building over Arizona this weekend will remain nearly stationary through at least next Wednesday. This weather pattern will result in an extended period of very hot weather, especially over the deserts.
High Temperatures... 110-116 Friday through Sunday, increasing to
112-120 Monday through Wednesday
Outlook...This heat wave may continue beyond Wednesday, perhaps
through the end of next week
The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued an Excessive Heat Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM Friday to 9 PM PDT Wednesday.
This heat wave will increase the potential for heat related illnesses.
Those working or spending time outdoors, the elderly, children, and
those unaccustomed to the heat will be most susceptible
