On July 17, 2017, at approximately 6:37 A.M., the Barstow Police Department Dispatch center received a call for service regarding a person trespassing to the rear of a business in the area of the 1900 block of East Main Street.

Officer Silva and Officer Willis responded to the location and located a subject sleeping to the rear of the business. The officers identified the subject as Curtis Odle.  Odle explained to the officers that he was homeless and currently living in the City of Barstow.

The officers conducted a records check of Odle during the trespass investigation and learned that he was a registered Sex Offender from the State of Kansas. Further investigation revealed that Odle had not registered with the State of Kansas in over a year and was therefore out of compliance. In addition, Officers learned that Odle had not registered with the Barstow Police Department upon entering The City of Barstow jurisdiction and was therefore out of compliance in the State of California.

Officer Silva and Officer Willis placed Odle under arrest and transported him to the Barstow Police Department.

Curtis Odle was booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department High Desert Detention Center (HDDC) for the listed charges.
