The Barstow Youth Advisory Council (BYAC) was established by the City Council of the City of Barstow on March 19, 2009 via Resolution No. 4688-2009 and is comprised of 13 teens advocating on behalf of young people in Barstow. They serve as an advisory body to the City Council in matters related to the needs of youth in Barstow and promote youth involvement in the community. They meet regularly to work to provide opportunities for youth service & development, participate in various volunteer activities and offer young people a means for their voices to be heard in local government decision making. Persons interested in joining of the BYAC may apply by filling out an application form and returning it to the City Clerks Office.
