Barstow Police Department Citizens on Patrol (COP) Volunteers Needed (2/1/2010)
The Barstow Police Department (BPD) is seeking qualified individuals to join the Citizens on Patrol (COP) program. COP's perform a wide range of functions including residence, vacation and extra patrol checks, welfare checks on invalid and elderly persons, neighborhood patrols, public relations, traffic direction, crowd control, clerical work, and various police department assignments.
Volunteers must be 21 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, valid identification, pass an oral interview and background check, attend monthly training/business meetings and citizen volunteer training courses, and donate a minimum of eight hours per month.
