Re: Traffic Alert and Road Construction Update

City road construction and traffic alert for the week of December 1, 2010, continue in the following areas: Mountain View Street remains closed to traffic from Lillian Drive to Muriel Drive. The north cross gutter at the intersection of Mt. View St. and Muriel Drive is closed. Please use the entrance at E. Main St. to access Muriel between Mt View and East Main Street.
Additional closures include Patricia Avenue at Mountain View Street. To access Patricia Avenue, traffic will be diverted to use Kelly Drive. Additionally, Stevens Avenue will be closed at Mountain View, to access Stevens Ave, Kelly Drive will be utilized as a during the closure.

Road construction has begun on North Second Avenue between E Main and Hutchinson Street, and on Cozy Lane between Second Avenue and Third Street.

Detours will allow access to the medical buildings and business’ on Mountain View Street but is not encouraged for through traffic. Residents within the work area will have access to their homes but may need to alternate their customary routes.
Road closures and detours are necessary to complete the project safely and in the most efficient matter. The City of Barstow and Sully Miller Contracting appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this construction.
