Universal Waste and Electronic Waste
INFORMATION ON NEW UNIVERSAL WASTE LAW:
As of Feb. 8, 2006, residents may no longer dispose of universal waste, including batteries, electronic devices, fluorescent lights, and mercury thermostats in the trash, according to the State of California’s Department of Toxic Substance Control. The following items are included in the new universal waste ban:

When these items are generated as a part of owning/ maintaining your home in the City of Barstow, you must dispose of them at Burrtec Waste or the Household Hazardous Waste facility in Barstow. The following is a list of items accepted at each location.
