Barstow Community Hospital, a 56-bed acute care hospital, is owned by the City of Barstow and operated by Community Health Systems Inc. The hospital provides comprehensive health care services, both inpatient and outpatient, to the surrounding High Desert community. Opened in 1958, Barstow Community Hospital has always prided itself in providing quality care, close to home for local residents and was named one of the "100 Top Hospitals in the Nation" for two consecutive years in the late 1990s.
