Military Banner Program – Application Period Currently Closed
The City of Barstow proudly invites residents to participate in the Military Banner Program, which honors and celebrates local heroes currently serving on active duty in the United States Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or National Guard).
The current application period has closed.
However, applications are accepted year-round and will be held on file for consideration when the next application period opens.
Eligibility Requirements:

The service member must be on active duty.

Either the service member or an immediate family member (spouse, parent, grandparent, legal guardian, child, or sibling) must be a current resident of Barstow.
Banner Installation & Display:
Once approved, banners will be proudly displayed along Main Street, Barstow Road, and Veterans Parkway.

Banners remain in place for two (2) years.

At the conclusion of the display period, and if available, banners will be returned to the applicant or designated family member.
In the unfortunate event that a service member passes away while on active duty, their banner will be respectfully removed and presented to their family during a City Council meeting, in accordance with the family’s wishes.
